Reese Witherspoon's acting career started to take off following her enrollment at Stanford University. The first time she was recognized for her work, it was with roles in films such as Pleasantville and Election but it was her portrayal of Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a significant turning point for her career. Witherspoon won her first Academy Award in 2005 for her part on Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are some of her recent movies. She received another Oscar nod for Wild. Witherspoon enjoyed great success in her roles as an TV star and producer in David E. Kelley's awarding-winning TV Series Big Little Lies. Her birth name was Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon. Born on the 22nd of March on the 22nd of March in New Orleans Louisiana. A daughter of a doctor and a nurse Witherspoon was raised at Nashville Tennessee where she was the first debutante to attend Harpeth Hall, which was a private girls' high school. At just 14, she was cast as the leading lady on The Man in the Moon the film that was her debut feature. She began her acting career as a small-screen actor during the first half of 2000. She made her movie debut with the comedy The Invisible Man. Then she would go on to make appearances on a range of television shows like House of Lies Whitney and Better Call Saul. She has also appeared in two films The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Alongside her acting profession, she's an excellent painter, and has shown her work in a number of galleries.
